A little taste of freedom!

Well all, if you did not know, I just spent a month having a little taste of what freedom is like. I got a month off from the army to come visit my family. Because of my status of being a 'lonely soldier' in the army, meaning I have no parents there, I get some special benefits including a month per year to visit my family. I hear from different times that people want my blog updated and I must apologize. First off I get home once every 3 weeks and second, the same boring stuff happens every day, so I never can think of something to report on. For now, I guess I'll give a little update of how I spent my last month.
To begin with, I had put in a request to leave the for the states about 2 months before I wanted to leave. But since nothing gets done until the last minute along with a lot of complaining, I got permission to leave 2 weeks before my flight. I then also had to run around the country, because the army paid for my ticket and so also had to get that taken care of last minute. Beside leaving no time, I ended up getting a ticket obviously.
I finally got here right before Passover, which was filled with everybody being in town in a two day period which meant no time to see anybody.....
Besides visiting with family and friends here in 'the land of clear water' (minnesota), I then went off to visit my grandma and grandpa in my favorite city and yours, Omaha. We did a lot of visiting over the few days and saw how the city's new construction projects (a new road) are starting to make it into a 'booming' city....
After a few days back in MN, I was off to visit the sis' with Michael in Madison. I decided that I did not like going back to Madison after being gone for 2 years. Everybody was so young! they are little kids. When I had left, I knew I was done withe the place, but now I really realized that my time had passed. Oh well. I had a few friends also meet me there for a day and for the most part we had good weather. From Madison, my brother and I got to Milwaukee and flew out to Arizona to meet our parents. First stop was the Grand Canyon. We actually had to get to Vegas since my dad had work, but I had already been there twice before and so had enough of it already. Well at least there are many other places I'd rather see which I haven't.Lets put it this way: I realized that outside of the places where I have relatives or went to school (madison and omaha), Las Vegas has now been the most visited city in my life and it isn't even a real city! So we went to the Grand Canyon a little first to see something new and please me. It was really neat to see, but you can only see so much up on the rim. I guess next time I'll have to go on a river rafting tour or some camping down below. But nonetheless, it is quite amazing.
We then drove 4 hrs to Vegas. Not much to report on here, because what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas....
Actually we just walked around, saw a few shows and came back. It was a good time despite me not really wanting to go.Despite me not writing in a long long time, I dont want to make this too long.
I had an amazing time here in the states and really forgot about life in the army. So now, I'm really dreading going back. But going back I guess is one more step toward the end.
