We Are (Slowly) Becoming a First World Country and I Got a Couch!

Ok, it's official. We are slowly moving into the category of being first world and the picture is a hint. No, couches didn't just arrive (but I did just aquire somebody's old couch for quite cheap, adding more to my room even though its still freezing inside. I know what you'll say, how cold can it be in Israel? Well it's not as cold as lets say Minnesota, but they build the walls out of frickin' cement with no insulation and so it traps in all the cold). Ok, back on subject. Do you see what is sitting on the couch? You may take it for granted, but I for sure don't. It's a 3-ring binder! Yes, 3 rings! One would think that this is a pretty standard thing when it comes to the binder realm, but it's not. Take a look at what dominates society here:

Two Rings!!!!! At first you might think that it might not be so bad, but it truely is. In the picture it appears that the papers are pretty secure in their spot, but the moment you lift up the binder, there is no support for the pages and thus they all somewhat fall downward and don't align well with the binder. 2-rings could have been a good idea, but if you look again at the picture, they put the rings right next to each other. This is basic physics priciples. You must spread out the surface area! If they had just put the rings further apart, it would thus prevent the pages from slipping and sliding back and forth. They may have invented the flash drive (or 'disk-on-key' as they are called here as that is essentially what they are, a disk you connect to your keys) and invented God knows how many computer chips, yet they can't figure out a binder?! This country boggles the mind. And there are stuff like this all the time that are purely backwards! Thus, it is still third world, but moving up!

Where did you find those?! I honestly searched through the Academon at Hebrew U for a solid 15 minutes looking for regular binders until the lady informed me they don't have any in "deese country."
