The Pope and His Overstayed Welcome

Finally, the Pope is gone! He left yestday. He was here for less than a week and only caused problems. First off, the entire city basically shut down and many busses weren't running, exit ramps closed (yes there is like one exit ramp in the city) and so people basically just parked their cars in the middle of the highway, streets closed and thus couldn't even cross the street. Once it took me over 2 hrs to get home from work because of him! Thus I've started riding my bike, which is a good thing.
Putting that aside, the country wasted so much money on his trip. And it's not like we have it. I read a prediction that it would cost the country around $10 million! For a 4 day trip! That includes a one-time outdoor amphitheater for one of his masses that cost well over a million! What a waste. There are so many people here that need that money. People here are poor. And its not like the VAtican isn't filthy rich or anything. They could pay for that in the drop of a hat.
And, after all that, he goes and makes remarks or its more what he didn't say that is so horrible. First off, he was a Hitler Youth as a teen. So lets give him the benefit of the doubt and say that he left on his own will as he didn't agree and is ashamed at what he did. Ok. If so, he then has to go above and beyond to prove this. Especially toward Israel! He was at Yad Vashem and gave a speech. He used words like 'killed' instead of 'murdered' and said 'millions' instead of giving more a specific number. You know how many people must have gone over his speech and scuitinized it all?! It isn't just a mistake that he said stuff like that. He had a perfect oportunity to try to right some wrongs, but no.
What a waste he was here. A complete waste. He just caused lots of problems. I wish he had never come.
But at least the picture is funny. They took the popemobile for some 'offroading' before his visit to see if it could arrive to somewhere he had to go.
